Literature Text

She's watching the clock--dreading the hour
When he walks through the door with his air of power.
Good day, she prays, then he might be more gentle
When he finds every mistake in her cleaning of the mantle.

She's hiding the scars because she wants no one to see
She keeps defending him when her friends all know he's mean.
Ran into a door--fell down again--
She's becoming the local klutz to all her friends.

The car door slams--he's muttering as he walks
Doesn't sound good--she knows there is no point to talk.
She's overwhelmed by fear; she's feeling broken
She just wants to die. No words left to be spoken.

She's hiding away, turning from reality
Because everything is fine inside her fantasy.
In her dreams, he truly loves her.
His rough touch is actually tender.

Yet the scars and bruises speak something else
She's nothing more but a trophy on the shelf.
Drowning herself in darkness as he walks in
He won't see her ever again.

                                     She's hiding.

You have a great balance to this piece that truly captures every answer that i could possibly ask. You allow the reader to push and imagine the scene and paint it in their minds.
