What if tonight was the end of forever?
        The mountains crumbled into the sea
Majestic buildings fallen
               Even the lone bird was no longer free.

And what if there was no such thing as tomorrow?
           The sun forever lost to night.
Not even the stars up above us
                Could send down their heavenly light.

Could you find the courage to stand strong?
       Would you still fight to defend?
When the world suddenly stopped turning
            Would you admit this was the end?

What if love no longer existed?
         It was just a dream undefined.
People stood independently
                But would you still long to be mine?

What if they outlawed passion?
         They claimed it to be a crime
To hold on to another person
             Forced you to do the time.

Could you find the courage to stand strong?
         Would you still fight for what was right?
When the world suddenly stopped turning
               Would we be lost to eternal night?

What if there was no heaven on earth?
          And we've all just been blind
And beauty faded away to dullness
                  And none of our hearts shined.

What if they looked down at us with hate?
           Claimed we were wrong to just be
And that we were destroying the system
                     Just because you loved me.

Could you find it in you to stand up?
          Would you still long to be my side?
When the world turned against us
                  Would you run away and hide?

So maybe there is no thing as forever
       And perhaps love is just a dream
But if all we have is tonight
              Would you still want to be here with me?

And should their eyes be filled with scorn
             Would you just glance the other way?
Or would you find the battle lost
                And no longer wish to stay?

Perhaps you may not see it
        But love in this time is rare
So please, I'm begging for a solution
              To know how much you care.
