I close my eyes as your fingers trail down my neck
Slowly tracing the curves of my body with your hand.
You tell me I look gorgeous, you like the smell of my perfume
And then you whisper seductively in my ear if I would take this dance with you.

You offer your hand and I just have to smile
You always have this certain way about you.
Together we walk out onto the dance floor, with your arms wrapped around me
Somehow everything fitting together like we were carved out perfectly.

The music is slow but somehow too loud
The room is a little more crowded than we like.
Yet even when you can hear the noises of others all around
It’s like we’re all alone and no one is making a sound.

Just lost in a world of you and me
With your arms around my waist and mine around your neck
And we just stare into each other’s eyes and investigate each other’s soul
Sharing secrets that we thought we’d never know.

Even when the music has ended, we still stand there a little longer
It’s like we cannot pull away, just stuck looking at each other.
You lower your head and kiss my ear before whispering softly in
And you said if you ever lost me, you would never love again.

I smiled at this and I tried to laugh, even though I wanted to cry
Because that was the sweetest words I’ve ever heard anyone say.
We slowly walk away from everyone else to take a walk outside
So from the public, we could have time to ourselves and hide.

You held my hand and we walked out under the moon
The stars capturing our attention, hypnotized by their light
And you turn and smile at me and say that the number of stars there are in the sky,
That’s how many years you’ll love me, and this time I did cry.

We’re just teenagers, but who says we don’t know love?
I turn to look at you and I gave your hand a squeeze
And whisper to you softly that there is nothing that could make me not love you
And there’s nothing in this world that could keep me away.

Our attention goes back to the stars and I start counting them softly
I guess you could hear me because you just looked at me and laughed.
Then you pulled me closer and kissed me and said I love you
And all I could do was kiss you back and say I love you too.
